About The Learning Center (TLC)

Tucked just behind First Presbyterian Church of New Orleans at 5401 S. Claiborne Avenue, The Learning Center—known simply as TLC—is a welcoming space where curiosity meets community.

Founded and led by Tracy Helms, TLC was created with a simple but powerful idea: learning should be accessible, meaningful, and grounded in real human connection.

What We’re About

At its heart, TLC stands for more than just learning—it stands for tender loving care. That philosophy shapes everything we do.

Here, education isn’t rushed or rigid. It’s thoughtful. It’s personal. It’s rooted in what we like to call TLC wisdom—the understanding that the best learning happens when people feel supported, heard, and encouraged.

Sometimes the smartest move isn’t the loudest one—it’s the one where you slow down, listen, and grow. That’s the spirit of TLC.

What You’ll Find Here

Throughout the year, The Learning Center offers a variety of classes, workshops, and gatherings designed to enrich both mind and spirit. Topics vary, but the goal is always the same:

  • To inspire curiosity
  • To build confidence
  • To create connection
  • To offer practical, real-life wisdom

Whether you’re looking to explore something new, deepen your understanding, or simply be part of a thoughtful community, there’s a place for you here.

A Place to Grow

TLC isn’t just about information—it’s about transformation. It’s a place where people come not only to learn, but to reflect, connect, and move forward with clarity.

Because sometimes what we need most isn’t more noise—it’s a little guidance, a little patience… and a little TLC.
